Foundation Masters
Developmental Children Art Academy draws its inspiration from the children. A child doodles on a piece of paper, a scribble with a crayon, or brush stoke heavy with acrylic paint across a blank canvas is the foundation of our inspiration. For the past 3 years, we have observed abstract painting through the lens of children doodling, scribbling and brush stroke. We have asked our children to look at the paintings of painting masters such as Edgar Degas, Vasily Kandinsky, Willem de Kooning, Joan Miro, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh. Our observation has reveals a beautiful parallelism with modern abstract artists masters, especially abstract expressionism and children doodling, scribbling and paintings. We have also observe from our 3 years of research with children doodling, scribbling and painting, that when a child begins with abstract art from 15 month onward, there a dynamic evolution in transitioning from abstracts to realism. Children are able to connect to their inner selves, develop focus, patience, perseverance, determination and build a pathway to channel creativity.
